World Patient Safety Day will be observed on 17 September 2025 under the theme “Safe care for every newborn and every child” with the slogan “Patient safety from the start!” This year’s focus shines a light on the unique vulnerabilities of infants and young children, reminding us that safe care must begin at the very start of life. The campaign aims to raise awareness of risks in newborn and paediatric care, encourage action from governments, health systems and professionals, and empower parents and caregivers to play an active role in safety. By working together, we can build stronger systems, policies and practices that protect our youngest patients and ensure a safer future for every child.
