ISQua EEA RECOGNITION

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for assessment, an organisation must be a standards-developing body within the health or social care sector. An application for recognition of a set of standards may only be made by the organisation that owns the standards or by a third party with written endorsement from the establishment that owns the standards.

How does the Standards Recognition Programme differ from the IAP Standards assessment process?

Through the IAP ISQua EEA assesses standards focused on organisation and/or service-wide care. Sets of standards are assessed against all six Principles of the Guidelines and Principles for the Development of Health and Social Care Standards.

With the Standards Recognition Programme the assessment of a set of standards will be tailored according to the scope of the set of standards. All sets of standards will be assessed against Standard A: Standards Development and Standard B: Standards Measurement. Organisations must be able to provide evidence to demonstrate that the standards are planned, developed and evaluated through a defined and rigorous process and that there is a transparent measurement or rating methodology used by clients and surveyors to aid consistent rating of achievement.

Depending on the scope of the standards submitted for recognition, the standards may also be assessed against one or more of the following standards: Standard C: Service Planning and Quality Improvement; Standard D: Patient Safety; Standard E: Clinical Effectiveness; Standard F: Person-Centred Care. If appropriate, a set of standards can be assessed against all six Standards.
